Would
you like to volunteer with Kids on the Block-Vermont?
There are many ways for the community to get involved:
|
|
|
Puppeteers
Looking
for a volunteer opportunity that provides the winning combination of
puppets
and kids? Join our puppeteer troupe - no experience needed!
Training in puppetry skills (based on the Japanese art of Bunraku
puppetry) is
provided throughout the year. Individuals and groups can schedule
a free training course with our Master Puppeteer.
Puppeteers are asked to perform once a month in
schools
throughout
Vermont. Volunteers of all ages - high school and up - are
welcome.

Board
Members
KOBVT is a
non-profit agency
run by committed board members. We seek a diverse group of
individuals
with expertise in business/finance, public relations, planning, and
education.
The greatest qualification for potential board members, however, is a
desire
to help educate children on how to keep themselves safe and healthy and
to appreciate each other's physical and cultural differences.

Committee
Members
If you have a
desire to become
involved, but aren't ready for a full board commitment, consider
contributing
your expertise to one of the following board committees:
Nominating,Personnel,
Finance, Public Relations/Fundraising, and Development.

of Burlington's Old North End, we offer a safe, convenient, and fun
environment to host office volunteer workers. Tasks include: data

the year

in Fundraising Activities
Halloween
Keepsake Photos:
On October 30th KOBVT takes photos of trick-or-treaters at South
Burlington's
University Mall. Volunteers line the children up, help
parents
fill out order forms, and elicit smiles for the photographer.
Puppets'
Choice Award:
This honorary dinner takes place in the spring. A variety of
tasks
are available from sending out invitations to cooking spaghetti.
Plus, you can see the puppets perform in their best outfits!
Vermont 50/50
Expos Raffle:
During the summer, come cheer on the Vermont Expos baseball team and
help
the "kids" at the same time. Puppets and people work the
bleachers
to sell 50/50 raffle tickets. Half of the proceeds go to KOBVT,
the
other half go to the lucky winner. |
